100 Books in 2012:

The Cambridge Introduction to the Novel, Marina McKay.

I love the Cambridge Introduction to… series. This one was written by a former professor of mine (Hi Marina!), so reading it was a little like being back in college again, listening to someone much smarter than me illuminate all these excellent structural points about the novel that I myself am bad at articulating. As an added bonus, since I took at least two classes from Prof. McKay, I knew all the examples she referenced, which never happens to me when I read literary theory.
